The Red Devils suffered another disappointing defeat as their chances of finishing in the top four are rapidly vanishing.

It was another evening to forget when Manchester United lost 1-0 against relegation-struggling Everton at Goodison Park.

Following an opener from Anthony Gordon in the 27th minute, the Red Devils pushed to mount a comeback. However, their efforts resulted in no goals, with the Toffees holding on to their leads until the final whistle.

United, who hoped to get back into the top-four race, remain in the seventh spot. The Red Devils slipped six points behind Tottenham, who claimed the fourth spot last week.

The defeat also registered a disappointing record for United manager Ralf Rangnick. The German boss now has the lowest winning percentage out of any United manager in the Premier League.

The Red Devils have won only eight of their 17 league games under Rangnick, with the former RB Leipzig coach having a 47% win rate.

Rangnick took charge at Old Trafford after the club parted ways with their former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in October. Under their new coach, United have suffered FA Cup and Champions League eliminations while seeing their chances of a top-four finish reduce significantly.

Rangnick will most likely leave United’s dugout in the summer as he is set to move upstairs at Old Trafford. English sources have linked several coaches with the managerial job at United, with Ajax manager Erik ten Hag being the main candidate to succeed the German boss.
