The Spurs are monitoring the market for a new defender this winter.

Tottenham could secure a move for Radu Dragusin with a €30m offer, according to the Genoa defender’s agent.

Dragusin has established a reputation as one of Serie A’s most promising young defenders since joining Genoa from Juventus in the summer.

The Rumanian star’s performances have reportedly caught the attention of Tottenham, whose stalled negotiations to sign Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo have forced them to look elsewhere for a new defender.

When asked about Dragusin’s possible contract extension at Genoa, the 21-year-old’s agent told SportItalia: “We [Genoa, Manea and Dragusin] said to ourselves that we will talk after the transfer market.

“We don’t want to leave either, we start from this assumption, then if an important club comes that can make him make a leap in his career it’s normal that they can evaluate him.

“Just like Genoa, if an important figure arrives, according to what we’ve read there is talk of possible offers of €30million [£26m]. In life certain trains arrive once or twice, but we are in no hurry to leave, many teams have called and are interested.”

In addition to Tottenham, Barcelona and Roma are also closely following Dragusin’s situation at Genoa. If Tottenham fail to bring the young defender to London this winter, competition for his signature might increase dramatically in the next transfer window.
