Nursing an ankle injury, the USMNT star hasn’t made an appearance for his club for over a month now.

Christian Pulisic will likely remain unavailable for Chelsea for their upcoming Carabao Cup clash, Thomas Tuchel has confirmed.

Pulisic picked up a knock during the recent international break in the World Cup qualifying match between the United States and Honduras.

The former Borussia Dortmund man’s playing time in 2021-22 has largely been limited due to the injury, with him having featured in only one out of Chelsea’s five Premier League games so far.

Still on the road to recovery, the forward is expected to also miss the Blues’ Football League Cup game against Aston Villa on Wednesday, as Goal reports.

“The game against Aston Villa is maybe too close, I hope I am wrong,” Tuchel told reporters after Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Tottenham.

“This is my impression with him not in training so far. Let’s see tomorrow.

“Maybe he had a good progression today. Maybe it is possible. It would be super nice to have him but it is doubtful.”
