Chelsea legend Pat Nevin is backing Christian Pulisic to be the club’s star player for another decade at least.
Christian Pulisic is only 21 years old. It is not unreasonable for the USMNT player to play at the highest level for at least another ten years if not longer.
Life at Chelsea saw the player struggle. Even potentially dumped at the first available opportunity after an indifferent start and talk of Frank Lampard not liking him.
This scenario was not unfathomable given his transfer was agreed by Lampard’s predecessor Maurizio Sarri.
However, rejection and criticism in his early days at Stamford Bridge did nothing but motivate Pulisic to work harder and improve.
The young American has done well to win over his critics and more importantly his manager.
Now after what turned out to be a fantastic season for the player, in the end, there is talk of him becoming a legend and being a star at the club for years to come.
Pat Nevin told the official website, he sees Pulisic having a bright future ahead of him at the club and only getting better.
“There were moments when Christian Pulisic looked like he might run away with the Player of the Year trophy.”
“At times he was looking like our most potent scorer as well as creator.”
“Chelsea fans will soon tire of comparing him with Eden Hazard, which is unfair on him, but they also know that for raw talent, match the intelligence and searing pace as well as an eye for goal.”
“At 21 years old he could be one of the most important players for this club over the next five to 10 years.”
Pulisic is set to line up with Werner and Ziyech this coming season. There is also the possibility of Kai Havertz playing the role of the creator behind that front three too.
