Christian Pulisic feels that Chelsea’s chances of landing silverware have been boosted by the addition of experienced players in the team.
Chelsea displayed no side-effects of the pandemic-induced financial crisis as they spent close to €250 million in squad recruitment in the previous transfer window.
The Blues brought it some of Europe’s finest talents in the shape of Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, and Ben Chilwell.
In Thiago Silva, a proven world-beater with a wealth of experience was also added to Frank Lampard’s squad.
Expectations are high among the supporters of the London-based outfit for them to build on their last season’s fourth-place Premier League finish and to give title-holders Liverpool a run for their money.
Christian Pulisic is confident that the newly-assembled team will not take too long to start producing the desired results as he expects his side to challenge even for the biggest prize in Europe – the Champions League.
“We’ve brought in more experienced players this year with some new signings, and I think we also have a great group of young guys so I think it’s a really good mix,” Pulisic told CBS Sports.
“We’re ready, we want to compete, and we want to win titles. Chelsea is a club with a lot of history that always wants to compete and win titles.
“Our goal is to finish at the highest standing in the Premier League and win every trophy available, Champions League included.”
