The Gunners were held to a draw in their final group-stage match of the Champions League.

Arsenal drew 1-1 against PSV Eindhoven in their Champions League game on Tuesday. The Gunners reached the last-16 round of the UCL as Group B leaders.

What happened?

PSV started the game on the front foot, pushing for an early breakthrough. However, the hosts rarely found a serious goalscoring chance as the Gunners gradually grew into the match.

The second half seemed destined to end in a goalless statement when Eddie Nketiah put Arsenal ahead with the first Champions League goal of his career. Following an assist from Reiss Nelson, the 24-year-old latched onto the ball before making it 1-0 with a precise low shot into the right corner of the net.

After the break, PSV immediately started their efforts to get back into the game. The hosts found an equalizer only five minutes into the second half, with Yorbe Vertessen converting a through pass from Ricardo Pepi.

Arsenal pushed to restore their lead throughout the second half as Mikel Arteta made a number of changes to his lineup. Gabriel thought he’d scored a late equalizer, but his goal was disallowed for offside as the Gunners settled for a 1-1 draw.

In addition to providing an assist for Nketiah’s opener, the English winger put constant pressure on PSV’s Mauro Junior, dribbling past opposition players five times during the match.
