The Brazil star has hit out at reports claiming he had a fight with his teammate after the Champions League defeat.
Real Madrid defeated Paris Saint-Germain 3-1 to qualify for the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday. The Blancos went 2-0 down on aggregate when Kylian Mbappe scored the first goal of the night for the guests.
However, a poor clearance from Gianluigi Donnarumma changed the course of the game just after the hour-mark. A misplaced pass from the Italian goalkeeper was enough for Karim Benzema to kick-start his incredible hat-trick.
After the game, there were reports of a bust-up between Neymar and Donnarumma in PSG’s dressing room. The Brazilian star has now dismissed the claims by publishing a screenshot of his chat with the 23-year-old.
Donnarumma posted a link of an article from Marca detailing the supposed events and wrote: “Ney, sorry about yesterday, this news is unacceptable.”
Neymar has responded: “Friend, calm. This can happen in football. We are a young team and we are with you. You are still very young and you are going to win a lot! Get up and continue, hugs.”
The PSG forward then published another story which read: “I hate coming on here and talking about the news. But the previous post [regarding a bust up] is a lie. There was no fighting in the locker room! Incompetent journalists who want to promote themselves, try the next one, ok?”
What’s next for PSG?
A disappointing defeat in the Champions League ends PSG’s dream of winning the trophy with their star-studded squad this season. However, they still have to fight for the Ligue 1 trophy back in France.
Next up for the Parisians is a league game against Bordeaux, who are stuck at the rock bottom of the Ligue 1 table.
