Julien Nagelsmann had no answers on how to cope with PSG as RB Leipzig were comprehensively beaten by the Ligue 1 champions.

Angel di Maria was not in PSG’s squad for the game against Atalanta. The Parisians left it late to overcome La Dea. However, he came good on his absence against RB Leipzig.

The Argentine was in full swing during the proceedings. He had a hand in all of PSG’s goals, scoring one and laying down the assists for the other two.

The game started brightly as the ball made it to both ends of the pitch within the first five minutes. The intensity wore off soon as PSG took control of the game.

Neymar could have troubled the scorers in the seventh minute, but his shot on goal thundered off the post. He would get more chances but the result remained the same. The Brazilian’s name continued to stay off the board.

Di Maria gained prominence in the proceedings soon after the woodwork was hit. He swung in a freekick which was met by Marquinhos. The defender did not make any mistake and PSG were off to a great start.

Soon after, Kylian Mbappe got the chance to double the lead. He was one on one with Peter Gulacsi but squandered the opportunity.

The French side eventually doubled their lead in the 42nd minute. Leandro Parades found Neymar, whose excellent back-heel pass was sent into the net by Di Maria.

PSG went into the break with the bulk of possession and a healthy 2-0 lead.

Julien Nagelsman must have given a heart-thumping half-time speech as Leipzig came out roaring. They overwhelmed their opposition.

However, they were unable to create clear cut chances. Crosses were sent in with regularity but they were swatted away by Thiago Silva and co.

PSG were under pressure but remained threatening on the ball. They made their proficiency count and hit Leipzig on the break. Di Maria was in the center of it all. His cross was met by an unmarked Juan Bernat, who made it 3-0.

Life was sucked out of the German side as they looked at the stark reality. To their credit, they continued to try and get that consolation goal but the PSG defense resolutely stood in their way.

PSG move ahead while RB Leipzig’s youthful squad learned a lesson in discipline.
