The Parisians have decided to sack Pochettino as soon as they have an agreement in place for their next manager.

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly intensified their efforts to sign Nice manager Christophe Galtier.

After an underwhelming campaign under Mauricio Pochettino, PSG’s star-studded squad will work with a different coach next season.

According to 90min, PSG’s newly-hired sporting adviser Luis Campos is close to reaching an agreement with Galtier.

The pair worked together during Galtier’s Ligue 1-winning spell at Lille, and their good relationship has worked in favour of a quick agreement.

Campos has reportedly explored several options to take over from Pochttino, with Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim, Tottenham’s Antonio Conte, and Zinedine Zidane being among the candidates.

However, PSG have realized Galtier is the most’ realistic option’ and signing him sooner will benefit the team’s pre-season preparation.

Zidane has long been a target for PSG, but he is reportedly unconvinced of the club’s sporting project. According to Diario AS, the Frenchman’s negotiations with the club’s leadership in Doha did not convince him to change his mind about the move.

Despite turning down PSG’s offer, Zidane has insisted he is keen to return to coaching.

“I want to continue,” he told Telefoot. “I still have this flame. Football is my passion.

“But I am [almost] 50 years old and fulfilled. I am happy, and that’s the most important thing.”
