Reports have emerged of Mbappe’s intention to leave PSG this winter.

Kylian Mbappe is happy at Paris Saint-Germain, according to his teammate Hugo Ekitike.

Mbappe ended a long-running transfer saga by signing a three-year contract extension in May. However, the France international has returned to the headlines due to his reported ‘broken relationship’ with the club.

Widespread reports in French media claim Mbappe has asked PSG to allow his exit this January. But Ekitike says his teammate feels comfortable at Parc des Princes.

“I often talk with Kylian [Mbappe]. I know that he is happy to be at the club,” Ekitike said after PSG’s 1-1 draw against Benfica on Tuesday.

Ekitike moved to PSG from Reims this summer, turning down Newcastle’s offer for a move to the Premier League. The 20-year-old played his debut Champions League match against Benfica.

“The Champions League is something magical,” he added. “Last year I watched it on television so participating in it and having those first minutes is something beautiful.”

PSG stayed at the top of the Group H table after the draw against Benfica. The Parisians will return to Ligue 1 to face Marseille on Sunday amid uncertainty over Mbappe’s situation at the club.
