The former Real Madrid captain’s debut for PSG is edging ever closer after making the club’s latest Champions League squad.

Sergio Ramos has made the Paris Saint-Germain squad ahead of the Champions League trip to Manchester City.

The Ligue 1 leaders visit the Etihad on Wednesday in a top-of-the-table Group A clash. Only a single point lies between second-place PSG and leaders Manchester City in the standings. With only a game left afterward, the outcome of this match may decide who wins the group.

So ahead of arguably their biggest game of the season so far, PSG have called up Ramos for the first time.

The 35-year-old defender has failed to make a single appearance for the club since joining on a free transfer from Real Madrid in the summer.

A string of injury setbacks, carried over from last season, have forced Ramos to stay sidelined. However, he returned to group training during the international break and appears ready to play some role at least.

If the Spain international plays on Wednesday, it will be his first match in almost seven months.
