The Parisians will have to take on Bayern Munich without the Brazilian superstar.

Neymar will miss Paris Saint-Germain’s upcoming clash against Bayern Munich with an ankle injury, according to Christophe Galtier.

The Brazil international left the pitch on a stretcher during PSG’s 4-3 victory over Lille in February. Later on, scan results showed damage to his ankle ligament, throwing his availability against Bayern in doubt.

Galtier has now confirmed his side will travel to Allianz Arena without the experienced forward.

“In the next two games, we won’t have Neymar available,” the PSG manager said.

“I think he will miss out against Bayern Munich.”

In Neymar’s absence, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe combined to secure a 3-0 win for PSG over Marseille last weekend. However, Galtier admits Neymar’s injury is a significant blow to his squad.

He added: “With the absence of Neymar, instead of having two midfielders, we will be with three midfielders and two attackers.

“To tell you that Neymar’s absence is trivial… no. It’s a detrimental absence for us.”

PSG lost 1-0 on home soil when they faced Bayern in the first leg of their UCL last-16 clash last month. The two sides meet again in Germany next Wednesday.
