The Parisians have failed to deliver expected results so far this season.
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly considering a move for former manager Thomas Tuchel.
The German boss reached the Champions League final with the Parisians in 2020. However, his two-and-a-half-year stint at the club ended only a few months later.
According to RMC Sport, Tuchel has received backing to return to PSG in recent weeks.
The growing pressure on Christophe Galtier has convinced PSG’s hierarchy to look for new managerial options. High-profile players have failed to regain their best form after the World Cup, with PSG suffering a string of poor results.
Tuchel has emerged as a serious candidate to replace Galtier. But the Emir of Qatar, who’s one of the main decision-makers at PSG, is reportedly keen to hire Zinedine Zidane.
The Frenchman has turned down two offers from PSG, but the club might approach him again if they part ways with Galtier.
A 1-0 defeat against Bayern in the Champions League’s last-16 tie has mounted more pressure on the PSG boss. The club’s hierarchy has reportedly informed Galtier that he has until March 8 to turn things around at Parc des Princes.
On that day, the Parisians will take on Bayern at Allianz Arena, hoping to complete a comeback and reach the quarter-finals.
