The Parisians are preparing to cut ties with their Argentine manager this summer.

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly contacted Jose Mourinho as part of their efforts to hire a new coach.

Mourinho spent a successful campaign at Roma, leading them to their first-ever European title last month. The Portuguese boss might now return to the elite level with a move to PSG.

According to 90min, the French giants are keen to hire Mourinho after the imminent sacking of Mauricio Pochettino.

Antonio Conte had reportedly been the club’s top choice for the dugout. However, the Italian boss has pledged his future to Spurs, forcing PSG to look for other options.

The PSG Intermediaries have reportedly made the first contacts with Mourinho to ask whether he would join the Parisians.

In case the Roma boss moves to Parc des Prince, he would work alongside his countryman, Luis Campos, who is set to join PSG as their new sporting director.

Mourinho and Campos have worked together in Real Madrid. The Portuguese coach even made a failed attempt to bring Campos to United during his time at Old Trafford.

Despite PSG’s interest, Mourinho has repeatedly insisted on his plans to stay at the Olimpico Stadium.

“I am staying, there are no doubts,” Mourinho said after Roma won the Conference League title.

“Even if some rumours emerge, I only want to remain at Roma. We must understand what our owners, who are fantastic people, want to do next season, because this is history.

“But we can build a really strong project with honest professionals. We need to sit down and understand what the plan is for next season.”
