The Parisians are yet to make their first signing of the winter transfer window.

Paris Saint-Germain are keen to sign Malcom from Zenit Saint-Petersburg this January, the Russian side’s manager confirms.

A €41m deal saw Malcom join Barcelona in 2018, but he didn’t stay for more than 12 months at Camp Nou. The Brazilian’s subsequent move to Zenit Saint-Petersburg, however, helped him regain his best form in the Russian league.

Malcom is currently the league’s second-best scorer, registering 12 goals in his 17 matches for the Zeniters. His performances have attracted interest from PSG, who might make the 25-year-old their first signing in 2023.

“No official offer has been received for Malcom, but there is interest from Paris Saint-Germain,” Zenit manager Sergei Semak told reporters on Sunday.

“I spoke to him and we are waiting for a formal proposal, and if it comes, we will examine it.”

Malcom is under contract at Zenit until 2027, but Semak insists his side won’t force players to stay beyond their will.

“PSG are a good club, one of the best in modern European football,” he added. “We would never force a player to stay, but Malcom is ready to fulfil the obligations of his contract with us. Today he plays for us.

“We haven’t had an official offer from Paris Saint-Germain so there’s nothing to talk about. There is interest, but we still have to go beyond that.”
