The Italian goalkeeper has opened up on his side’s disappointing defeat against Real Madrid.

Real Madrid completed a sensational comeback to beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-1 in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Wednesday.

A poor clearance from PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma kick-started Real Madrid’s efforts to get back into the game. Benzema scored a hattrick against the Italian keeper while PSG suffered another painful elimination in the Champions League.

On Friday, Donnarumma took to Twitter to open up on his side’s defeat at Santiago Bernabeu.

“The elimination from the Champions League was a hard blow,” the 23-year-old wrote.

“The last two days have not been easy, but we come out stronger from these moments of difficulty.

“Now we have to think about the present, about winning Ligue 1, giving everything as I have always done for this shirt, for this club and for our fans. Let’s start again together! Allez Paris.”

After the game, a few sources claimed Donnarumma had a bust-up with his teammate Neymar after the game. However, the Brazil star dismissed the rumours by publishing a screenshot of his Whatsapp chat with the Italian keeper.

PSG will now return to Ligue 1 to face Bordeaux in their next game on Sunday. Let’s see if the Parisians can come back from their back-to-back defeats against Real Madrid and Nice.
