The Parisians have made their first signing under new manager Christophe Galtier.

Paris Saint-Germain have announced the signing of Nordi Mukiele from RB Leipzig.

The France international have signed a five-year contract at PSG, leaving Leipzig ahead of their upcoming Super Cup clash against Bayern Munich on Monday.

PSG faced competition from Chelsea in the race to sign Mukiele. However, they managed to complete the signing by agreeing to a €16m deal with Leipzig.

Speaking to PSG’s official website, the 24-year-old said: “When I found out that Paris were interested in me and that they wanted me to come here, I had to think about it because it’s very important.

“It’s a very big step in my career, it’s not a choice to be taken lightly. But I think and I’m sure I made the right choice.”

Mukiele has developed into a versatile defender at Leipzig, playing both at right-back and as a central defender.

The Parisians are reportedly preparing to sell Presnel Kimpembe, who is among Chelsea’s top defensive targets this summer.

Mukiele’s arrival is PSG’s second signing this summer. The Parisians have spent a relatively quiet transfer window since extending Kylian Mbappe’s deal in May.

Earlier this summer, the French side announced the signing of Vitinha, who joined them on a €40m move from Porto.
