PSG faced Lille in a French top-flight battle on Friday.
It went as expected as Lille did not display any signs of being intimidated by PSG’s star-packed squad.

What happened?

Jonathan David surprised the hosts by scoring the opener for Les Dogues in the 31st minute.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side immediately started their efforts to equalize the game. However, they did not manage to do so until fifteen minutes past the hour-mark. Angel Di Maria crossed the ball from the left-hand side of the box, which was headed past Ivo Grbic by Marquinhos’ precise header.

The hosts kept Lille under pressure and finally got their match-winner in the 88th minute!

Lionel Messi spent another quiet night at Parc des Princes. The Argentine star displayed an underwhelming performance in the first half before being substituted at the start of the second period.

Messi and co remain on top of the Ligue 1 table with 31 points from their 12 matches, preparing themselves for their upcoming battle against RB Leipzig in the Champions League.
