The Blues will face Wolves on Sunday afternoon despite attempting to postpone the fixture.
The Premier League has rejected a request from Chelsea to postpone their fixture with Wolves on Sunday at Molineux.
Thomas Tuchel’s side made this request to the English league on the morning of the match after three more of their players tested positive for COVID-19.
However, much to Chelsea’s disappointment, the Premier League turned down the appeal after assessing all the evidence and deciding the club had enough fit players to face Wolves.
“We are deeply disappointed that our application was rejected as we felt we had a strong case for the postponement of today’s match on the grounds of players’ health and safety,” said a Chelsea spokesman as per The Telegraph.
