An incredible save against Chelsea wins the prize for the Everton keeper.

Jordan Pickford has claimed the Premier League Save of the Season award.

The English top-flight announced their shortlist of ten saves from the 2021-22 season on Tuesday. Stops from the likes of Alisson Becker, David de Gea and Aaron Ramsdale reached the final list.

But, it was Pickford who claimed the prize for his stunning reaction against Chelsea on May 1. The Toffees managed to beat their opponents 1-0, thanks to Pickford’s heroics.

Pickford scampered across the line to stop Cesar Azpilicueta from drilling a strike into the back of the net.

Other great saves from the 2021/22 campaign

From the ten nominees, Aaron Ramsdale’s save against Leicester United might be the one that received the most praise at the time. His incredible effort to save James Maddison’s free-kick impressed Manchester United legend, Peter Schmeichel.

David De Gea was the only goalkeeper who had two saves in the final shortlist. Despite United’s awful displays last season, the Spaniard managed to maintain his excellent form, saving his side on many occasions.

Another keeper who performed well in a struggling side was Nick Pope. The English star couldn’t prevent Burnley’s relegation but pulled off some fantastic saves.
