The Reds dominate the lineup despite their unsuccessful bid to win the league.

Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) have announced their official Team of the Year. Despite Manchester City’s title-winning campaign in the Premier League, Liverpool have the most players in the lineup.

Alisson Becker stands behind a four-man defence line consisting of Antonio Rudiger, Virgil van Dijk, Joao Cancelo and Trent Alexander.

In midfield, Thiago Alcantara is selected alongside Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne.

Mohamed Salah, who won the Player of the Year award, plays with Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane as the team’s forwards.

Rudiger and Ronaldo are the only players on the list who don’t play for Liverpool or Man City.

The Chelsea defender remained a key player for the Blues in his last season at the club. On the other hand, Ronaldo kept his good form despite Manchester United’s struggles.

Liverpool have five players on the list, which is one more than Man City’s four representatives.

Jurgen Klopp’s men pursued the quadruple until the very end. However, they missed out on Premier League and Champions League titles in the final step.

Let’s see if the Reds can keep Mane and Salah at Anfield amid numerous reports linking them to other clubs.
