Let’s take a look at the player ratings from the Group E FIFA Women’s World Cup match at Eden Park.

The United States rounded off their World Cup group campaign with a 0-0 draw against Portugal on Tuesday.

The stalemate was enough to secure a last-16 berth, but not to clinch the top spot in Group E. The USA had to settle for second place instead. Their tally of five points from three games was two less than group winners Netherlands, who thrashed Vietnam 7-0 in their fixture.

The USA’s display in Auckland was as lackluster as the other two games. They made empty passes, turned the ball over, and couldn’t finish their chances. They had 17 shots in the game compared to Portugal’s six, yet only seven were on target and none found the back of the net.

The four-time world champions will now turn their focus to the last-16. They may face Group G leaders Sweden, although nothing is concrete yet. Portugal, meanwhile, head home after a third-place finish in Group E, one point behind the USA.
