The Frenchman has acknowledged his struggles at Old Trafford lately that has seen him become a subject of criticism ever among fans.

Manchester United have experienced torrid times early in the campaign, quite evident from the fact that they sit at 14th in the Premier League table after seven matches.

A majority of the United players haven’t enjoyed the kind of start to the 2020/21 season, with Paul Pogba a noticeable underperformer.

The midfielder continues to struggle for form and fitness this season just like he did in the previous one and, as a result, has dropped deep down in the pecking order lately.

Out of the Red Devils’ past four games, the 27-year old has started just one, with over half of his 11 appearances so far this season coming off the bench.

Bruno Fernandes is an undisputed starter while Scott McTominay and Fred are being more favored by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the central-midfield spots. Donny van de Beek, meanwhile, has seemed the manager’s preferred choice for substitutions, making Pogba pretty much obsolete.

Currently away on national duty, the France international has opened up on his struggles at Man United.

“I had never known such a difficult period in my career,” Pogba said in an interview with French radio RTL.

“The France team is a breath of fresh air, the group is exceptional, it’s magic.”
