During a recent interview with Rio Ferdinand, Paul Pogba explained why he thinks Manchester United players aren’t cheating anymore in practice.

There was a time when Paul Pogba felt some Manchester United players were cheating during practice. By cheating, the French midfielder means those who don’t make the extra effort when they are running a drill or doing an exercise. There was a time when no Red Devil was motivated to play for the squad, him included. But things have drastically changed now, as Manchester United is fighting for the title against Manchester City.

The Red Devils have another chance to take the top of the Premier League today once again after City took it on Tuesday. Pogba sat down with Rio Ferdinand for an interview to explain what changed between those dark days and today. Paul has a very clear idea of what happened, as he explained it to the former defender.

Pogba’s idea of work ethics.

“The mentality, playing more as a team,’ Pogba said on BT Sport’s Youtube channel. “Playing much better all together, pressing much better together. No one is cheating. When I mean cheating – no one is running less or not making the effort to come back. It’s Always been a problem. When you’re all together it’s always going to be easier. If someone is making less effort, it’s going to be a little problem for the team. When you’re all together, you all work hard, you see the result.

“I am on contract, I am here, I am enjoying myself. Everybody knows that I have one year left, I’m going to speak with the club and see what’s going on. For now, my objective, my goal is to win something. That’s all I’m thinking about is to win. Since Bruno (Fernandes) arrived he’s brought this energy, his passing, his scoring goals, his creativity. With me I am deeper, but he is in front to create as well. It’s always good to have two players who can create any time. It suits both of us, we’ve been doing very well. We are more complete as a team.”
