This week, Mauricio Pochettino wanted to talk about Kylian Mbappe’s future and also spoke about his encounter with Leo Messi.
Kylian Mbappe’s future is pretty much everything Mauricio Pochettino gets asked about in recent days. He knows how important the French youngster is for PSG’s next decade. After his performance against FC Barcelona, Mbappe’s value skyrocketed even further than it was before the game. Also, his hat-trick made Nasser Al-Khelaifi think twice before allowing him to leave Paris. Any club that wants to get him will have to battle against PSG.
Even if Real Madrid has a good relationship with the French giants, nothing guarantees they will be willing to sit down and negotiate. The only one capable of making this transfer happen is the player himself. However, Kylian has no intentions to rebel against the club in any shape or form. Doing this would be utterly disrespectful against an institution that made him a star. If there’s a way to convince them he wants to leave, it has to be carefully and in a respectful manner.
Pochettino is confident on Mbappe staying.
Although he just got to Paris, Mauricio Pochettino is in the loop of everything that’s happening inside the club. When asked about Kylian Mbappe’s future recently, he revealed some sensitive information. The Argentine manager hinted at the possibility of a contract extension in the next few weeks. Mauricio also revealed what he said to Leo Messi right after the match between Barcelona and PSG at Camp Nou.
Marca picked up the following statement: “PSG can give Mbappe all the tools to be happy. I believe his future will clarify very soon. I only said hello and goodbye to Messi, we didn’t talk about his future. We need to be careful and prepare the return leg in the most serious way possible. Neymar dreams of playing against Barcelona but his physical well-being is the most important thing for us.”
