The Argentine manager left PSG after 18 months at the club.

Paris Saint-Germain officially announced the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino on Tuesday, with Christophe Galtier replacing him as Parisians’ new boss.

Pochettino’s departure was not a surprise as PSG had started searching for a new manager several weeks ago. The former Tottenham manager led PSG to their tenth Ligue 1 title during his first full season at Parc des Prince.

However, an underwhelming Champions League campaign seemingly convinced the PSG officials to end his time at the club.

Having coached Espanyol, Southampton, Tottenham and PSG, Pochettino is now available to make his next managerial move. But which clubs have a higher chance of securing his services.

Betfair has chosen Real Madrid as the most probable destination for Pochettino at 6/4. The Blancos’ president Florentino Perez is reportedly a big fan of Pochettino, with the clubs considering his appointment several times.

A move for Pochettino, however, is unlikely until Carlo Ancelotti leaves the club. The Italian manager won the La Liga and the Champions League title in his first season since returning to Santiago Bernabeu from Everton. However, he might consider retiring altogether after the next campaign.

A return to Tottenham is available at 6/4, while Newcastle and Manchester United moves are both priced at 7.

Manchester United considered Pochettino among their top choices to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. However, PSG’s refusal to let him leave mid-season led to United appointing Erik ten Hag as their manager ahead of the next season.
