Juve boss Andrea Pirlo says his side are still working out different tactics after his first game in charge of the club.

The Andrea Pirlo era at Juventus began with a convincing 5-0 win over Serie A side Novara.

Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring for Juve in the first half after twenty minutes. In the second half, Aaron Ramsey and Pjaca grabbed a goal each before substitute Portanova completed a quick brace in two minutes of stoppage time.

It was a promising sign for Pirlo in Juventus’ fitness ahead of the new seasons.

However, the new boss is still yet to find his best formation for the reigning champions. Juve used different formations in the first and second half and the new boss says they are still trying out a lot.

“We are trying various solutions,” Pirlo told Sky Sport Italia after the match.

“In the first half, we played with four at the back, it becomes three in the different phases.”

“In the second half, we stayed with three, preparing different solutions.”

Pirlo also added that he wants enthusiasm at the club and is also in search of a new attacker for the club. This comes after Gonzalo Higuain has already agreed to join Inter Miami.

“The team must have it [enthusiasm], the lads are getting used to the new type of work, they have fun.”

“I need an attacker as soon as possible, but the market is long, it will last until the start of October, we have time to work.”

Pirlo will take charge of his first official game for Juventus when they kick-start their Serie A campaign against Sampdoria next Sunday.
