Andrea Pirlo is thrilled with Cristiano Ronaldo’s incredible work ethic and praised how the star has made the difference for Juventus.

35-year-old Ronaldo has enjoyed a stunning start to the Serie A season, with three goals in just two games. His brace in last weekend’s 2-2 draw against Roma was vital for Juventus and, in particular, Pirlo.

The Bianconeri boss is under pressure to deliver at the first time of asking in Turin, despite his lack of coaching experience.

But with an experienced champion in Ronaldo by his side, Pirlo has enjoyed an unbeaten start to life in the dugout. He took the opportunity in a press conference to praise his star man for his efforts and hopes more goals come his way.

“Ronaldo works very hard. He is the first to come to training and the last to go home,” said Pirlo as quoted by Goal.

“He brings enthusiasm, you can notice it on the pitch as well. He started the season really well, I hope he will keep doing like this until the end of the season.

“I wish he’ll score one or two goals every game. He is really important for us. In Rome, we were a man down and he helped a lot until the end of the game. He is an example for everyone.”

Ronaldo is expected to play in Juventus’ Serie A clash with Napoli on Sunday evening despite both teams reporting positive cases of COVID-19.
