Alvaro Morata starred in one of the season’s most frustrating moments as he missed the chance to get Juventus in the lead against Atalanta tonight.

If there was an award for worst miss of the season, it’s safe to say that Morata would be nominated for it. The player left the Bianconeri stunned as he attempted to score with his back-heel after Ronaldo’s goal attempt. However, an overconfident Morata barely even touched the ball and stood still as the ball slowly made its way out of bounds.

Juventus were unable to win against Atalanta after a 1-1 draw. Therefore, it is normal that both players and manager were unhappy with the striker’s terrible miss. At the post-match conference, an annoyed Pirlo commented on his player’s action.

“It made me very angry, it’s something we can not afford, these opportunities can channel the game in a certain way,” said the Juve boss.

However, he doesn’t feel the Spanish footballer should be judged on one miss alone.

“One must have the lucidity to make the right choice and he didn’t. Aside from that he made a great game, it happens not to score goals sometimes.”

Additionally, Pirlo believes it was his team’s lack of concentration that prevented them from securing the win at Allianz Stadium.

“We must win those games where we need to make a step forward. Instead, we have sinned a little ‘lightness in some cases and we could not win the game. We must take these games home with a little more wickedness and concentration.”

Alvaro Morata is having a terrific season at Juventus, scoring nine goals in 15 matches for the Serie A champions. Moreover, the Spanish international is one of the Champions League’s top scorers with six goals in six matches.
