Ahead of Juventus’ Serie A match against Cagliari, Andrea Pirlo revealed he finally found Cristiano Ronaldo’s attacking partner.

Andrea Pirlo has been experimenting all season with the possible variations for Cristiano Ronaldo’s ideal partner. Fortunately for Juventus, they have several great players who can be considered top level but few of them can shine next to Cristiano.

We saw how Paulo Dybala has struggled to find his place next to the Portuguese forward as he can play better in the playmaker position. As soon as Pirlo arrived, he started testing different formations and variations that suited Ronaldo better. It appears that after several months of testing, he finally hit the jackpot with a player who arrived during the previous transfer window.

We are talking about Alvaro Morata, the Spanish striker who just arrived from Atletico Madrid. Due to his prolific past at the club and his good relationship with Cristiano, Alvaro hit the ground running as soon as he arrived.

Pirlo won’t experiment with Ronaldo any longer.

Morata’s presence on the attack can finally take pressure off Cristiano Ronaldo, for he is no longer fully responsible for scoring all the goals. Also, this new variation can give Paulo Dybala more time to find his best form as a playmaker behind the two forwards. By the time all three hit their peak this season, Juventus has the potential to be unstoppable. The gaffer knows the potential his squad has for success.

“I hope the experiments are over,” Pirlo told Juventus TV. “I have had the opportunity to work with players who are super willing to talk and make some technical, tactical changes, so I’m satisfied with this.

“Depending on the matches, maybe something will change, but let’s first give an energetic impression and then maybe we will change something. Morata is a great player,” Pirlo said about Morata.

“We took him for this reason. We knew of his quality; now he has also found the confidence and continuity he had lacked in recent years. We know his value and we hold him tight and give him what he needs.”
