After securing Champions League football for next season, Andrea Pirlo has opened up on his future as Juventus manager.
Andrea Pirlo expects to continue as Juventus manager for next season in light of his recent successes.
Sunday’s 4-1 victory over Bologna moved Juventus ahead of Napoli, who drew 1-1 with Hellas Verona on the same day, for the final top-four spot in Serie A.
The triumph secured Champions League football for next season and came only four days after the Bianconeri defeated Atalanta 2-1 in the Coppa Italia final.
A fourth-place finish in Serie A, however, is a disappointment. It ends Juventus’ nine-year dominance and has fueled doubts over Pirlo’s future.
“I’ve always put in the maximum commitment, and this is the end result. Those who must decide [about my future] will do so,” the 42-year-old told DAZN.
“I see myself in the Juve dugout next season. I would confirm it myself, but now we have to just enjoy what we have achieved.
“For me, it was important to finish the job: winning the Coppa Italia and qualifying for the Champions League. It was a very important goal.”
Pirlo ends his first season as a manager with two trophies in the Supercoppa Italiana and Coppa Italia.
The Juventus boss has registered 34 wins, 10 draws, and eight defeats in his 52 games in charge so far.
