Ahead of this Juventus’ crucial match against Lazio, Andrea Pirlo expressed his excitement for the upcoming game in Rome.

Andrea Pirlo’s Juventus is about to face Lazio in an afternoon match at Olympic Stadium in Rome. This is arguably the most important game of the weekend in Europe apart from the Borussia Dortmund vs Bayern Munich match in Germany. Last season, the Roman squad was one of the most important clubs in Italian football with Ciro Immobile as the Golden Shoe winner. This season seems to be a more interesting one with several other clubs back in contention for the title.

Lazio is only two victories away from the top of the table and Juventus needs this win in order to move a point behind AC Milan at the top. This will be one of the most complicated games in recent months for the Bianconeri, and a proper test for Andrea Pirlo as a newbie. It’s evident that Juventus is set for a complicated visit to Rome. However, the manager couldn’t be more excited about the possibilities.

Pirlo loves facing Lazio since he was a player.

During his playing days, Andrea Pirlo loved facing Lazio as one of the clubs with the biggest tradition in Italian football. As one of the two major clubs in the city of Rome, beating them was always a treat for Andrea. Now that he gets to face them as a manager, he can’t wait for the chance to use his best starting eleven. Obviously, Pirlo will use Cristiano Ronaldo and alvaro Morata on the attack. Those two players will be the ones who tilt the game in Juventus’ favor.

“It’s certainly going to be a great game, because Lazio-Juventus is an enjoyable match to play,” Pirlo told JTV. “It will also be difficult, as Lazio are a wonderful team and proved that in recent years, so it’s tough, but exciting. We imagined their classic 3-5-2 with a very tight defense. They are very good on the counter, especially with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as well as their forwards. This is why we must be wary of making technical errors that can spark those counters.”
