Juventus boss Andrea Pirlo has been handed his coaching badges. It was officially approved by the Italian football federation on Wednesday.
Ahead of his first official job as a manager, Andrea Pirlo has completed his coaching badges and becomes officially licensed for his role.
The 41-year-old was initially appointed as Juve’s U-23 boss but only lasted 10 days in that role. He had not managed a game yet before Maurizio Sarri was sacked and he got a speedy promotion.
Ahead of the new season, Pirlo completed his final exams and earned his UEFA Pro coaching badge on Monday.
The federation revealed that the Juve boss and Motta were the best two students.However, the former PSG midfielder received a mark of 108 out of 110, while the Turin legend got one less at 107.
According to The Athletic, Pirlo referenced Roy Hodgson among a list of coaches that impressed him.
The qualification, following a year-long course, is required for a coach to lead a team in Serie A or B.
Juve started life with their new manager in a 5-0 friendly win over Novara on Sunday.
Pirlo is gearing up for his first Serie A match in charge of the Old Lady, with their opener against Sampdoria coming up this weekend.
