Stefano Pioli takes pride in seeing AC Milan accomplish so much in this transfer window despite the current distorted state of the market.

AC Milan flaunted their financial muscle in the summer of 2019, spending over €100 million on squad recruitment.

The likes of Franck Kessie, Theo Hernandez, Rafael Leao, and Ismael Bennacer were brought in as the club sent a signal that they are actively seeking to reinstate themselves as a dominant force in Italian football.

Milan amplified their signal in the January transfer window by bringing in star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Rossoneri hierarchy was not disappointed with their heavy investment as the team showed massive improvement, earning an opportunity to play European football to show for it.

In 2020/21, they are expected to finish in a Champions League spot as the bars have been raised higher up for them this term.

And Sandro Tonali and Brahim Diaz‘s arrival, although on loan deals, only goes on to prove that Stefano Pioli’s men are serious about their objectives.

“Our window started well in advance; the club has shown its willingness to continue what we started last season,” the official Serie A website quotes Pioli.

“From renewals to new purchases, we’re done some good business and I’m really satisfied. The transfer window is open for a little while yet but for now, we just need to think about what happens on the pitch and about getting this season off to the best possible start.

“These last few weeks have allowed us to reflect a bit more with the management in order to choose what’s best for us.”
