Milan plan on addressing only a limited number of positions in the summer transfer window, announces Stefano Pioli.
AC Milan endured a troubling first half of the 2019/20 season but they managed to turn their misfortunes around after the three-month coronavirus enforced break.
An inspiring 12-match unbeaten streak saw them attain sixth-place finish and earn a place in the Europa League second qualifying round.
They are now set to begin the preparations for the next season which is scheduled to start on September 19.
It was reported that a meeting was held on Monday in which the club’s hierarchy discussed the transfer objectives and strategies, both incoming and outgoing.
Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic and Napoli’s Nikola Maksimovic are a few names that have pooped up as they look to strengthen their defense. Zlatan Ibrahimovic‘s renewal is also a priority.
However, the Rossoneri are yet to show any activity in the transfer market in terms of recruitment or renewals.
“Milan don’t need many new signings; we need few reinforcements but in the right positions,” said Pioli, according to Football Italia.
“I’m sure the club will find the right solutions. I’m in touch with the CEO Ivan Gazidis, with (technical director) Paolo Maldini, and (sporting director) Frederic Massara.
“Together we will do our best to improve this team.”
