A report claims Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford could still get punished after his gruesome tackle on Liverpool star Virgil Van Dijk.

There was plenty to talk about after Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday. Jordan Pickford was on the wrong side of the headlines.

The Everton goalkeeper recklessly came off his line to block the Dutchman’s shot but clattered into him with a horrendous knee-high challenge.

Van Dijk was ruled offside at the time and Pickford surprisingly escaped a card. It ended badly for the Dutchman who couldn’t complete the game.

There are reports the Liverpool man could be out for the season and it has not gone down well with the public.

The Mirror now reports that Pickford is still in line to get a retrospective ban after that tackle.

As per the report, the FA will have a second look at the incident after going through the report of referee Micheal Oliver.

The report claims that the head of VAR David Coote might have been tempted not to make a decision due to the offside position from Van Dijk.

However, the FA have the right to do so and Pickford could be handed a three-game ban if found guilty.
