The academy graduate opened up on his struggles to regain a spot in the Man City line-up.
Manchester City attacking midfielder Phil Foden aims to keep his spot as a regular starter after going through ‘one of the worst parts’ of his career.
Despite a strong start, Foden lost favor midway into the current campaign. The 22-year-old England international completed 90 minutes in only three of his 12 post-World Cup games following an ankle injury, as well as the excellent form of Riyad Mahrez and Jack Grealish.
However, with three goals and an assist in his last two games, he is ready to put his previous ‘frustrations’ aside.
“I feel much better with my feet. I feel 100% fit now and comfortable,” Foden told ITV after Tuesday’s 3-0 FA Cup win over Bristol City.
“[It has] been one of the worst parts of my career, but everyone goes through them and it is how you react.
“[The issue was] discomfort in my feet and not playing as much. I love to play football and when I don’t I am a bit frustrated.”
Foden has managed 12 goals and five assists in 32 appearances across all competitions for City this season.
