Carles Perez assures he is feeling fine as he goes into a period of self-isolation following testing positive for coronavirus.

AS Roma players arrived at the team’s training on Thursday in order to undergo COVID-19 tests ahead of starting their preparations for the 2019/20 season.

The Italian side are set to partake in their first preseason training session on Friday just a few weeks after playing the last match of their last season, which ended in a 2-0 defeat to Sevilla in the Europa League.

Carles Perez returned positive diagnosis for coronavirus.

“Two days ago, to check my health before starting the preparations with the rest of the team, I took a test for COVID-19. Today they communicated the result to me,” Perez wrote on Instagram.

“Unfortunately, it’s positive. But fortunately, I feel well and I’m totally asymptomatic, although I will remain in isolation until the test is negative.

“When the doctors allow it, I will join my teammates to work and I’ll be more motivated than ever.”

Perez, who joined the club initially on loan from FC Barcelona in January before completing a permanent transfer this summer, is the second Giallorossi player found to be carrying the virus along with Goalkeeper Antonio Mirante.
