Perez drops health update after contracting COVID-19

Carles Perez assures he is feeling fine as he goes into a period of self-isolation following testing positive for coronavirus.

AS Roma players arrived at the team’s training on Thursday in order to undergo COVID-19 tests ahead of starting their preparations for the 2019/20 season.

The Italian side are set to partake in their first preseason training session on Friday just a few weeks after playing the last match of their last season, which ended in a 2-0 defeat to Sevilla in the Europa League.

Carles Perez returned positive diagnosis for coronavirus.

“Two days ago, to check my health before starting the preparations with the rest of the team, I took a test for COVID-19. Today they communicated the result to me,” Perez wrote on Instagram.

“Unfortunately, it’s positive. But fortunately, I feel well and I’m totally asymptomatic, although I will remain in isolation until the test is negative.

Due giorni fa, per controllare il mio stato di salute prima di iniziare la preparazione con il resto squadra, ho fatto un tampone per il COVID19. Oggi mi hanno comunicato il risultato, che purtroppo è positivo. Fortunatamente mi sento molto bene e sono totalmente asintomatico, anche se come è logico dovrò restare in isolamento fino a quando il test non sarà negativo. Quando i medici me lo permetteranno, mi unirò ai compagni per lavorare più motivato che mai. Perez, who joined the club initially on loan from FC Barcelona in January before completing a permanent transfer this summer, is the second Giallorossi player found to be carrying the virus along with Goalkeeper Antonio Mirante.
