During an Instagram live interview, Pep Guardiola issued a challenge to some of the most important Premier League giants.

Pep Guardiola has unequivocally left a mark in the Premier League already. The Santpedor native arrived at Manchester City with the English club only having two Premier League titles in their trophy room. After a few years, he’s managed to win more local titles that any manager accomplished in such a short period of time.

Only the Champions League has resisted him so far, but he keeps working hard to make it happen. Before Pep came along, comparing the Citizens with any Premier League giant was simply impossible. But now that he’s won this many titles, it doesn’t sound too crazy to think.

Although clubs like Liverpool or Manchester United are still decades ahead of Manchester City, other clubs aren’t. Institutions like Arsenal or Chelsea are also considered Premier League giants. Guardiola’s squad is already on their level and the manager can recognize it.

Pep even thinks City is at the top.

This happened earlier today during an Instagram live interview with India’s cricket captain, Virat Kohli. Although Guardiola recognized he didn’t know much about that sport, he has started following it recently. But it’s clear he wanted to talk about Manchester City’s newly found greatness.

“We are a club that has taken an incredible step forward during the last decade,” said Pep via Sport. “We wanted to stand next to Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, and we were there. We did it. But the show must go on. The bad moments are less, the good are less too.

“You can be happy even if you don’t win. You suffer the bad moments, enjoy the good ones, and have fun. Try doing it as best as you can all the time. If you don’t win, it’s fine but you have to try again. We will do everything possible in order to win.”
