During his latest press conference, Pep Guardiola revealed a club’s biggest secret to remaining consistent during a season.

Ahead of a crucial match against Crystal Palace, Pep Guardiola revealed the secret behind getting a consistent team throughout an entire season. It’s no secret that Manchester City has been brilliant this campaign but people keep asking Pep what his secret is. This season has been especially challenging for all the top clubs in Europe due to the pandemic. Suddenly, there was no resting time between games as it used to be.

The clubs that make it all the way to the final stages with chances to win trophies are generally the ones with the biggest rosters. Manchester City is one of the clubs that have more quality players in the entire continent due to their economic power. Guardiola never shies away from accepting the reality of his squad and he feels grateful for it. Perhaps some will say he sounds cynical when they ask him about it but Guardiola is only being transparent.

Pep is grateful for the players he has.

Ahead of the crucial match against Crystal Palace in the brink of a new title, Manchester Evening News picked up this statement from Pep: “I said many times and all the managers at top clubs would agree playing every three days we don’t have training. I am a manager of course but I don’t feel like on the pitch we can develop because we don’t have time.

“The only reason is the quality of the players that we have, that can understand what we are looking for and change some ideas immediately because they are intelligent and good. There are no more secrets to success. You can win something important in one season but to be consistent through the years there is just one secret: have quality players. When you have a team like this, we have to try to buy as good a player as possible, and you can sustain it for a long time.”
