The high-flying Citizens moved a step closer to a remarkable treble by booking a spot in the Champions League final.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola himself can’t resist the excitement of possibly winning a treble this season, saying his squad can “visualize” the phenomenal achievement.

Wednesday’s stunning 4-0 victory over Real Madrid sealed City a 5-1 aggregate win in their Champions League semi-final contest, which secured their spot, alongside Inter Milan, in the final itself in Istanbul on June 10.

It also moved City another step closer to winning three trophies this term. The Citizens could wrap up the Premier League title this weekend. They will face Manchester United in the FA Cup final on June 3.

“Let me win the first two,” Guardiola said when quizzed on the club’s treble hopes.

“In the Premier League, we are close. We know we need one more game and I would say we play against our neighbors [Manchester United] and against an Italian team [Inter Milan] in the finals. The season is really, really good, now we have to lift it. We are close and of course, we are going to try.

“We are there, we can think about it, we can visualize it. We are three games away. One each of the competitions, we can do it.”
