The second-placed Gunners are one point behind Guardiola’s league-leading City side going into their final three games of the campaign.

Former Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha reckons manager Pep Guardiola has a contingency strategy prepared in case Arsenal manage to win all of their remaining three Premier League matches.

With a game in hand over the second-placed Arsenal, City hold a one-point lead at the top of the Premier League table. They have four matches left. Everton, Chelsea, Brighton, and Brentford will be their opponents.

Arsenal, on the other hand, will face Brighton, Nottingham Forest, and Wolves for their final three games in high spirits, having beaten third-placed Newcastle United 2-0 on the road last Sunday.

“Given how successful he has been in the past, Pep Guardiola will have a plan in place which will revolve around Arsenal winning all their games,” Onuoha told Sky Sports.

“If there is rotation [against Everton] it will be for reasons other than results which are out of his control. He will control what he can. I fancied Arsenal to win [at Newcastle]. For as good as Newcastle have been, Arsenal could finish the season on 90 points.

“Man City will expect Arsenal to get to that, and they are on track to get 91 points currently.

“Seeing Arsenal win away somewhere, where people thought they might lose, is irrelevant. At the end of the day, they are going to put points on the board, because that is what they have consistently done. For Pep Guardiola, it won’t change his ideas on rotation or plans.”

‘It’s a cliché that every game is a final,” Onuoha added.

“But in some ways, it is because if you lose one before you know it your dreams are up in the air.”
