The France international opened up on his turbulent relationship with the former Red Devils coach.

Paul Pogba has revealed his relationship with Jose Mourinho turned sour when the former Manchester United manager questioned an old injury he had.

In his latest release of ‘The Pogmentary’ Amazon documentary, Pogba lifted the lid on his time at Old Trafford during Mourinho’s reign as the club’s head coach between 2016 and 2018.

The pair both arrived in Manchester in 2016 and enjoyed initial success together, winning three trophies in their first season. But by the time Mourinho left in December 2018, their relationship had broken down. Videos even emerged at one point, showing them seemingly arguing in training.

Pogba reveals the moment things went ugly

Now Pogba has revealed the moment things went ugly by referring to a message Mourinho sent to his then-agent, Mino Raiola, about an injury he had – supposedly the thigh problem he sustained in September 2017.

“It started when I got injured. I said I was going to Miami to do rehabilitation,” Pogba said.

“A paparazzi took a photo of Zulay [Pogba’s wife] and me. Jose sent the picture to Mino [Raiola]. I didn’t like that at all. He said he’s on holiday when we are working like [expletive].

“I told Mourinho, ‘are you serious? I’m injured. I train three times a day here. Who do you think I am?’ It was new to me to have an issue with my coach.”

Three-and-a-half years since Mourinho’s departure, Pogba will leave Manchester United himself when his contract expires at the end of the month.
