The Zambian striker’s stunning start to life at Leicester continued by breaking a club record on route to a crucial win.
Patson Daka believes his prolific start at Leicester City is a testament to the confidence and quality he has from his teammates.
The Zambia international became Leicester’s all-time leading goalscorer in European competition on Thursday by scoring the opening goal in the 3-1 Europa League win over Legia Warsaw.
It was his fifth strike in as many games in the competition following his €30 million summer arrival from Salzburg.

“It was an amazing performance from the team tonight, great football, a great atmosphere from the fans. It was a really important victory for us tonight,” Daka told LCFC TV on the game.
“I’m a goalscorer, I know my responsibility, I know my job, so I just have to make sure that I’m in the right place at the right time and of course, I know the quality that we have in the team, so I just have to put the icing on the cake.”
Quizzed on his excellent record in Europe for the club, the East African added: “It also shows the confidence that I’m receiving from the team and support, so I just make sure I utilize every chance that I get.”
James Maddison and Wilfred Ndidi were also on target to seal Brendan Rodgers’ side a return to winning ways. They have one more Europa League clash coming up on December 9 at Napoli.
As things stand, Leicester sit one point above Spartak Moscow and Napoli at the top of the Group C table.
