The French club Paris Saint Germain involved in negotiations over the signing of Chelsea defensive midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Chelsea signed Bakayoko on a five-year deal on July 15, 2017. The transfer amount was £40 million.

At the time, he was the club’s second most expensive signing after Fernando Torres.

The defender was expected to be along with N’Golo Kante, offering a new dynamic for Chelsea per Sky Sports.

Despite playing 43 games in all competitions, Bakayoko only registered three goals and three assists.

That surely isn’t the sort of commitment fans were anticipating from a £40 million signing.

Following the next season, there was an even greater disappointment debut at the Premier League campaign.

After the weak pre-season with Chelsea, the 26-year-old midfielder was out on loan for the last two seasons. First to AC Milan in the 2018-19 season, followed afterward by Monaco for the 2019-20 season.

Last month, there was talk with Milan to resign Bakayoko. Though with no arrangement having concurred, Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain have begun to compete on signing the defender.

At this current time, the clubs involved seem to be discussing the chances of having Bakayoko be sent as a loan. Perhaps a permanent arrangement.

Chelsea is liable to be quick to organize an exchange fee now with under two years remaining on the Frenchman’s agreement.

The current talks include selling Bakayoko to Ligue 1 giants for £32 million.

Bakayoko started his profession in Ligue 1 with Rennes. Prior to moving to Monaco in 2014, from where he joined the English team, Chelsea.

The 26-year-old defender has only made his one international appearance for France in the year 2017.

Chelsea is hoping to recover a portion of the critical expense they’ve made this summer.

With French goalkeeper Edouard Mendy’s appearance from Rennes on Thursday turning into their seventh first-team signing of the current window.
