Cut out from the London outfit’s plans, the German midfielder could end his nightmare by following in the footsteps of Wayne Rooney.

Mesut Ozil has been presented a way out of Arsenal by DC United with the MLS side reportedly having offered him an ‘attractive package’.

Ozil is yet to play a single minute for Arsenal this season having not been included in their Premier League and Europa League squads.

The midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season. And with manager Mikel Arteta displaying little interest in reinstituting him in his plans despite the painful lack of creativity in the team, it is safe to say that the player is destined to depart.

As Football London reports, Major League Soccer could be his next destination as DC United have opened transfer talks with the World Cup winner.

The report claims that DC United are ready to facilitate the expansion of Ozil’s M10 brand across the United States while also plan on deploying his ’39 Steps Coffee’ brand in their Audi Field stadium.

Furthermore, he has also been promised by the MLS side that he would become the face of their club in accordance with the deal.

Ozil takes home a mouth-watering £350,000-a-week salary and has previously asserted that he wishes to see out the full length of his Arsenal contract.
