Michael Owen says Paul Pogba will strongly start weighing his options at Man united after seeing himself become second fiddle at the club.

Paul Pogba will consider his options if he remains stuck on the bench at Manchester United, says Michael Owen.

The France international had been named among the substitutes for the Red Devils’ last two fixtures.

Pogba saw game time in Champions League and Premier League meetings with Istanbul Basaksehir and Everton. However, it was only 39 minutes of action across those two fixtures combined.

The 27-year-old has admitted to enduring a tough time at the club level as he continues to star for his country.

As expected, transfer talk is building again despite the player still on a contract that runs up to 2022.

Owen believes Pogba will be giving serious thought to his future and that United must find a solution that favors all parties.

The former Red Devils striker told Metro: “United have still to find their rhythm and they must find a way to get their best players all on the pitch at the same time, which is obviously easier said than done.”

“You can’t keep Pogba on the bench, and if he can’t secure a regular place in the side soon, he may have to consider his options.”

“I know him, I know how he works. He has pride and above all he has talent. When you have to defend, he can defend. When he has the opportunity to express himself, he is able to do so.”

France boss Deschamps recently backed Pogba to take his country form back to United when club action resumes.

“Paul is a top-level player and I hope what he did with us will be useful to him when he gets back to his club.”

Pogba will hope to prove Deschamps correct in United’s clash against West Brom this weekend.
