The Nigeria international has scored nine headers for Napoli since his €75 million arrival from Lille in 2020.

Victor Osimhen is better at heading than Cristiano Ronaldo, according to ex-Napoli striker Bruno Giordano.

Ronaldo, one of the most renowned headers of the game, has scored 112 headed goals in his club career. His last one came against Norwich City in April, where he bagged a hat-trick to steer Manchester United to a 3-2 win.

In comparison, Osimhen scored eight headers in all competitions – five more than Ronaldo managed at United – for Napoli last season.

“We are talking about an incredible player [Osimhen], “ Giordano, who won a domestic double with Napoli in 1986/87, told Il Mattino, via Mondo Napoli.

“He opens gaps for his teammates, walks the defenses, and then scores. He does not give up and is always the protagonist.”

On Osimhen’s best attribute, Giordano added: “The header. In this fundamental, he is even stronger than Cristiano Ronaldo.”

Osimhen has scored in both of Napoli’s opening games this season to help the club go top of the Serie A standings with six points.
