The Catalans continued their winning streak with a narrow win over Osasuna.

Barcelona defeated Osasuna 2-1 in their La Liga game on Saturday. Robert Lewandowski’s late goal ensured another victory for Barca as they reached the third spot on the La Liga table.

What happened?

Despite a shaky start, Barcelona managed to establish their dominance as the first half went on.

Following a few missed chances, the Catalans finally managed to break the deadlock just before the break. A corner from Ilkay Gundogan found Jules Kounde, who made it 1-0 for the visitors with a fantastic header into the far corner.

Osasuna pushed hard to get back into the game at the beginning of the second half as Barca failed to maintain the pressure on their opponents. The hosts claimed a well-deserved equalizer through Ezequiel Avila in the 76th minute. But that wasn’t enough to spare them from the defeat.

As Barca’s pressure mounted in the final ten minutes, Osasuna looked more and more frustrated in the defence.

Following a foul by Alejandro Catena inside the box, the referee awarded Barca a penalty and sent off the Osasuna defender. Robert Lewandowski then made it 2-1 with a cool finish, securing the three points for Xavi Hernandez’s men.

Osasuna vs Barcelona: Man of the Match

Jules Kounde made another impressive performance in Barca’s backline while scoring his side’s first goal with a brilliant header. The 24-year-old deserves the Man of the Match title as he also played a key role in Barca’s successful defence of their lead toward the end of the game, making a number of interceptions and precise tackles.
